I Work for the Post Office Now
Hello Big Team—
I want you to know that I had a really phenomenal email planned for this week. And then your books arrived on Tuesday, and since then, every spare moment of my waking life is now devoted to printing labels, labeling packages, signing books, creating manifests, and ruining the work lives of the people at my local post office. But your books are on the way! Keep a weathered eye on the horizon over the next week or so (a little longer for our international teammates). And please be gentle with me and the USPS employees. We’re doing our best. It’s not our fault that Amazon has trained us all to believe that we should get everything the day after tomorrow. The books are coming though. Promise.
I did want to flag for you though that our first book club meeting is this Sunday! We’ll be discussing Salmon and Acorns Feed Our People. I know we had officially highlighted 2:45pm ET for the meeting, but I am hoping its okay if we bump it forward an hour to 1:30pm ET? If folx have a big issue with that let me know— I just had a conflict and didn’t want to miss a beat!
Here’s the details for that meetings:
Sarah Mock is inviting you to a Virtual Big Team Book Club:

Fair warning, I will likely be labeling during book club. Gotta get the mountains of books out of my apartment.
In the meantime, if you need something farm-y to hold you over, have you watched McFarland USA? Is it, at times, problematic? Yes. But how many mainstream studio movies shine a light on the fact of child farm labor in America? None. Also, it’s an inspirational sports movie so. That’s fun.
Anyway, it’s back to the label corner with me.
See you all on Sunday! And prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for a *kick-ass* newsletter in my post-logistics manager life.
Rock on y’all,
Sarah
